Stop Snoring
You know you snore, but what can you do to stop snoring?
Snoring leaves you and your bed partner cranky and sleepy by the time you have to wake up. I’m sure you’ve seen tons of products and treatments that help stop snoring but they can really take a bite out of your wallet.
So in the mean time, here are a couple of tips to stop snoring that I found useful and that my wife loves too.
- This is a biggy, avoid drinking alcoholic beverages and sedatives before bed time. These cause your muscles to relax and therefore limiting your air passage way.
- Getting a bit chunky? Losing weight will help greatly; just losing 10% of your body weight can help stop snoring.
- If you know nasal congestion is causing your snoring problem, the inhaling some steam before going to bed is a solution. Try steam vaporizers, running hot water and even inhale steam from a hot towel.
- This one is kind of funny, but it works! Sew a tennis ball to the back of your pj’s. The discomfort of the ball on your back will help you avoid sleeping on your back, which brings us to the next tip.
- Change the position you sleep, sleeping on your side is the most recommended position to stop snoring.
- Don’t drink dairy products before you go to sleep; it creates mucus which makes you snore.
- Sleeping at different times? Making and following a strict sleeping schedule helps a lot. Make sure you go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day.
- Pillow to soft? Soft pillows make your muscles relax and narrows your air passage way. Use a firmer pillow and try lifting your head up a bit.
